With summer here, it's time to dust off the outdoor equipment and playplace. We have a climber in our yard that was graciously handed down from my sister. Our Swing N Slide Play Set features many different pieces of equipment, but one of the primary things the kids love the most is the Swing N Slide SpeedWave Slide. With three children, a slide can get used almost hundreds of times a day. There's just something about sliding that people love.
Swing N Slide play sets generally come as kits but you can also buy the separate pieces depending on what you want/need. I have yet to see a play set that doesn't have a slide to it. Swing N Slide primarily makes the SpeedWave slide as an add-on to wooden play sets. They make a regular and a Super, which is longer. The regular version of the slide mounts to a 4' platform. This slide has a deep well which safely holds kids in. The problem with these walls is that they are fairly skinny. I consider myself pretty thin and my hips barely fit on the slide. It does wave some which creates a fun ride for the kids.
Since we have a smaller climbing set, the original SpeedWave slide is perfect. It is just the right side for younger children. My one year old can navigate the climber and slide with ease after just a little practice. Likewise my other two children (3 and 5.5) love the slide as well. Sometimes they even climb up it.
The slide is a hefty price, usually running around $150, but it is sturdy as well. We have had the slide for 3 years now and prior to that my sister had owned it for about 6 years. It still looks as good as when she first installed it.
