Pros: limp and supple, very suitable for baitcasters, long lasting, fairly priced.
Cons: not as tough as other maker's similar product
The Bottom Line: SpiderLine Fusion is an average superline that barely does the job.

| snakeheader357's Full Review: SpiderLine Fusion Freshwater Line Series |
The Spiderline Fusion Freshwater line is one of the new breed of lines. It is not to be confused with pure braid lines, as the line actually consists of several fibers thermally fused together. By this process, the line is more rounded and stays rounded longer, compared to certain braid lines that becomes flat with prolong use. As such, it is quite suitable for both baitcaster and spinning reels.
Since the line is quite tough, make sure you are using strong metal type spools if loading a spinning reel with Spiderline Fusion. I use it on my Daiwa BG series spinning reel without any problems.
It is also quite supple, and suitable for baitcasting reels. I have no line slipping off the spool, using it on my Ambassadeur 4600C5 Mag X and the occassional bird's nest are quite easy to pick out.
Due to almost no line stretch, the line is very sensitive and allows good hooksets with the right fishing set-up.
The green color also makes it quite invisible to fish even though it is quite large in diameter compare to braid line of similar poundage.
I purchased the line in 30 lb strength to fish in heavy cover and this is where I found that it is weaker compared to Berkley Fireline of 20 lb strength(both Berkley and Spiderwire are under the same parent company now). After pulling my bait/lure through submerged brush or small sunken wood, the line can be easily cut. I have not experience such thing so often when using Fireline.
As this is the main purpose I intend to use it for, I would prefer Fireline compared to Spiderwire Fusion.
I have also use it for saltwater casting and so far the line has been on one of my reel for nearly 18 months. Apparently it is quite long lasting.
It is fairly a good line, especially with the price equivalent to $9.00 US here in Malaysia, for situations where line capacity and higher poundage is needed. However, this fusion is not as tough as other fusion lines I have seen.
