predaguyver's Full Review: SpiderMan for PlayStation 2
In this game, you play Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man as he develops his spider-powers. Not only do you face different challenges besides beating bad guys up, but you also earn extra moves along the way, such as the Haymaker, Tackle, and Handspring to name a few. You can swing through the caverns of New York City, zip-line through the sewers, or even crawl your way stealthily through OsCorp! Be careful, though! Lots of criminals are after you, including (but not limited to) the Skulls Gang, the Shocker, Scorpion, and the Vulture.
You start off on top of a tall skyscraper, shedding your street clothes and adorning your "pre-superhero, wrestler wanna-be" Spider-Man outfit, just after the killing of your Uncle Ben. In order to find your uncle's killer, you must soar through the city in search of members of the Skulls Gang. After you find them, you must extract information on where Spike (Uncle Ben's killer) is heading. If you feel kind of philantropic, you can search for the usual D.I.D. (Damsel In Distress) on one of the many rooftops, but don't delay! You can't let Spike go too far or you might lose your chance for revenge! After that, you begin your journey to face your ultimate challenge: Norman Osborn a.k.a. The Green Goblin.
Spider-Man: The Movie is a great game to pass your time with. You learn so many cool moves and meet many different (yet utterly appealing) characters throughout the game. You also go outside the movie a little in facing different villains of Spidey's, including Shocker, Vulture, and Scorpion. Plus, you earn points for every round. If you earn enough points, you can unlock many different things, such as training courses, hidden movies, even different costumes! This game is very diverse in giving rewards to those who go through and finish the game!
The graphics of this came are almost on level with the movie itself. The graphics are very smooth, almost lifelike! You could swear this wasn't a game, but an interactive movie. It's almost surreal!
The only bad thing about this game is the controls. If you're either on the basic or enhanced controls, it is kind of difficult to pull off some moves. I still can't pull off the Web Hit attack, and I've had the move for a while! Also, the camera tends to not move as often as you do, so you have to depend on the right analog stick a little. Otherwise, this game is very cool! I'd totally recommend you get webbed up in this game. It is very addicting!
