Just last weekend, my older son, Kameron, celebrated his 12th birthday. And since we had a 30 foot round above ground swimming pool installed last year, he's had a pool party for his birthday two years in a row now. So after inviting a few of his friends over, they spent most of the day playing and goofing off in the water. And the pool toys they ended up playing with the most? ~~~Our Experience~~~

Kameron and his friends chose teams during his recent pool party and they made up a game similar to dodge ball in which any player hit by a Splash Bomb was out and the last boy standing (his team) was the winner. They had load of fun soaking the balls with water and then throwing them across the pool at each other. The colorful balls actually float in the water, so they are easy to grab onto when stray balls are collected. And my younger 4 year old son, Tristan, actually got in on the action as well by throwing a few into the water from the round pool deck we have. He thought it was the most wonderful thing soaking his brothers and his friends even though they quickly soaked him in return with return shots. So while we mostly use our Splash Bombs in our backyard swimming pool, they can also be played with like water balloons as they soak whoever or whatever they happen to come in contact with when wet.


~~~Overall Recommendation~~~

If you happen to find these Splash Bombs on clearance, stock up and give a few out to your kids now and then save the rest for next year as this simple toy can provide hours of wet fun to thrill seeking boys. The fabric does tend to fade some in the sun or when it comes in prolonged contact with chlorinated pool water, but they'll still look great well into their first season of use. Other shapes are available as well, including larger footballs, so pick up a variety of these water toys while you are at it. So for us, Kameron's recent pool party was a success and I give these Splash Bombs alot of the credit!
