Even in all the craziness, Brody and Polley fail to infuse their characters with any sort of real punch.
Have always found Brody no more than average, and Polley's usually too smug and self-aware.
Thanks for taking one for the team here.

Foshizlee,

There is, but it's stuck In Theaters. We never got a proper DVD listing. There's a Movies Message Board thread on the topic here:

Thanks for commenting!

I thought Brody was brilliant in The Pianist - and has sucked in everything he's done since. Or chosen material that sucked. Or both. Sigh.
Polley is someone I've only seen in a few things and found mostly just okay.
Thanks for taking one for the team here.
Oh, and I did. I think you would find the sex scenes gross, too.

Ok, that's what I thought. I was just making sure. Also, I agree with virtually all of your points! Great work, as always.

I really dug Brody in The Darjeeling Limited, too...
This movie didn't work for a variety of reasons--definitely the Sarah Polley factor and because of how predictable it was. Your review perfectly sums it up for me...now I have no reason to write about it ;) Well done,
Jason

As with some other past winners, (Reply to this comment)

especially black ones (Haille Berry, Cuba Goodings, Lou Gossett) but F. Murray Abraham and many winners of best supporting actor Oscars, I wonder if the honorees have made bad choices or only had bad offers to choose among. I thought Brody was at least OK in "Hollywoodland" and "The Brothers Bloom." I blame "Darjeeling Limited" on Wes Anderson.

He was the only thing I did dig about The Darjeeling Limited. And even then, you can only do so much...

Of course you need to review it! If only to relive, in your dreams, the experience of having watched it. Aaaaaahhhhhh! I just had a flashback.
I don't know Polley well, but she was not good here. And it is predictable. And gross. Oh, no, another flashback...;)

I suspect you're right. And Brody is probably a hard actor to cast well, since he doesn't fit into any of the typical Hollywood stereotypes. I do like him, and accept that he has to pay the rent like everyone else, I would just really like to see him in another hard drama.

I did not like him in Brother's Bloom - I didn't like either one of them but of the two I preferred Ruffalo's character. I agree with you about Darjeeling - what was anyone supposed to do with that?

Bill,
It is yucky. Not just gruesome - I can do gruesome - but just unsavory in so many ways. Not the least of which is the completely crappy CGI. I truly think this is one you would hate.
