pakalolo's Full Review: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell for Xbox
I haven't had a video game system for about ten years (the last one I had was Atari Jaguar). I just graduated college and decided to buy an XBOX to celebrate. In my opinion the technology of this game is awesome. The 3-D aspects of body movement are set on ten planes, so the movement is very smooth. The sound in this game rivals any movey I've seen, and the graphics are the best I've seen, although I've been out of the loop for a while and don't have much to compare them to.
The main drawback of this game is the last of points to save. You end up tripping alarms or falling off balconies when trying to jump to other ledges, rope, pipes, etc. and yo end up having ot repeat a lot of tedious parts and it's gets boring and frustrating.
For some reason I can make accurate head shots from 30 yards, but other times I can be two feet from someone and it takes me eight shoths when the crosshairs are clearly on the target.
This is not a shoot-em-up game so I can't really aregue about any lack of action. This game is about stealth, much like most missions of real Navy SEALs. As my first game I am might impressed with both the game and the XBOX.
