Pros: This is an attractive bed with average comfort level. It is relatively inexpesive.
Cons: Durability is terrible. The warranty process is a nightmare.
The Bottom Line: Even though the bed initially felt comfortable, the price seemed adequate, the quality was poor and customer service was a nightmare.

| michellabella's Full Review: Spring Air Back Supporter Four Seasons Mattress |
We purchased this bed from JCPenney's in January of 2000. We felt that it looked nice and was comfortable. It was moderately firm with a pillowtop. The pillowtop isn't as plush as pillowtop mattresses from reputable brands such as Sealy and Stearns & Foaster but it does provide somewhat of a plush, cloud-like feeling.
It was delivered and we were pleased for the first six months.
In June we started noticing that the bed was sagging in the middle. The salesperson who sold us the bed made sure to note that this bed had a "generous" 10 year warranty and to keep the receipt. We called the store we bought it from to have them send a furniture specialist to our home to evaluate the defectiveness of this bed. They made an appointment with us for 2 months down the road. Meanwhile we are sleeping on a bed that is beginning to kill our backs everynight.
We were transferred out of state before our apointment arrived. We had to go through the process again, of calling the customer service center, making an appointment and waiting. Someone was sent to our house and said that body indentions of 3 inches or less were considered NORMAL. I disagreed! I paid just under 800.00 for a bed that was supposed to last for 10 years and within the first year had a 3inch body gap in the center.
We kept our receipt and waited for it to continue worsening...meanwhile sleeping was painful for our backs and we were seeing a chiropractor for back spasms. In October of 2001 we called them again to come out and evaluate our bed. At this time the indentation in the center of this bed (King size) was 6 inches. The said that yes this bed is defective but you have a coffee stain at the foot of the bed and that disqualifies your warranty.
After going round and round with JCPenney's and Spring Air corporation we did infact get our bed refunded.
As a result of this experience I can't recommend anyone buying this bed (especially from JCPenney's).
As for the construction. I have since learned about how the coils are designed inside the mattresses. THis company aligns theirs from side to side (left to right). Apparently how they are arranged causes this sagging problem. I did in fact purchase the box springs (two twin size box springs for a king size bed) that went with this mattress from the store. The frame was from the store as well (another $100). It is two cross bars going across the center.
I hope that this information can help anyone considering buying this mattress to continue their shopping research to another brand.
