In February 2003, I purchased the Spring Air King Sheffield mattress and box spring in a king size. Per the warranty this needed to be rotated every two weeks in the first three months, and thereafter, once every two months. Ours was a no flip and we even opted for the King Fabric Protection for $32.50 even though we never eat or drink in bed. For the first two months it was wonderful getting up every morning without my spine aching or being crooked. Then all of a sudden the pain and crooked body showed up again. Even my husband noticed that he used to sleep so soundly that he never moved all night was suddenly tossing and turning and waking up in pain. So we started rotating the mattress once a week and that didn't help. Then we noticed the dip in the mattress on both sides over 1 1/2 inches and upon closer inspection some of the circles that were stitched in the top of the mattress were odd shaped and the threads were coming loose. Also, the tape edge of the mattress was coming undone. I went to Rockaway Bedding where I purchased it from and they gave me a number to call and said I should have no problem getting permission to exchange it. I called the number and was informed I needed to fill out a form, attach a copy of the original receipt and I could fax it back to them. A few days later they stood by their word and will be sending me a voucher to take back to Rockaway Bedding and pick out a new mattress. And I can guarantee you my new mattress will not be a Spring Air. I just hope I get a better model and they do the fabric protection for no cost and the new mattress will hold up to our expectations this time. PS Inspect your mattress and box spring upon delivery for loose threads, uneven sewing and search for any imperfections and continue to inspect it for the first 90 days and get rid of it before the deadline.
