| qtp2t4474's Full Review: Spring Air Back Supporter Mattress |
I actually got Spring-Air to stand behind its warranty on the first king-sized set we bought at Hank's Fine Home Furniture in Bentonville, AR. Within a couple months of spending $1400 on this Never-Flip (should be Can't Flip) set, we noticed how low we were sinking and how high the ridge between us was growing. We were sleeping poorly and waking up in pain--so I contacted Hanks and was sent a claim kit by Spring-Air--funny that they have the need for so many claim forms, they've saved themselves some time by having stacks of kits handy. I filled out the copious amount of paperwork, and set about proving to Spring-Air there was something wrong with their mattress set. I sent many, many pictures--including some of the bed made, so that they could see the dips on either side of the ridge in the middle. It looked like a couple of quilted graves, side-by-side. Miracle of miracles, in a few months, we heard from Hank's that we could come and choose a new Spring-Air set. Happily ever after?? Not hardly! We were told Spring-Air had completely changed the way they manufacture their sleep-systems (oh, brother) and had retooled their factories to do it--yippee. This time, we really took our time and laid on all of them and chose carefully. This set looks better made, but it is even less supportive than the first one--and produces more pain. I'm an afternoon napper--if I sleep on our Spring-Air, the pain in my joints--especially my hips--will be with me the entire evening. My husband's golf game is suffering because of his hip and shoulder pain. The thrashing around we do all night makes us get up unrested and feeling crabby. Sometimes, just to catch up on some rest, I sleep on the cheap twin mattress on the day-bed in my office, and my husband sleeps on the couch. A more uncomfortable night's rest, I cannot even imagine--a park bench would be preferrable. We will have to replace this awful thing soon--we're considering buying a couple twin mattresses instead--as they would fit down into our bed, keeping them together. My advice: run, run fast--away from the Spring-Air dealer in your area--or pay with your health and comfort!
