| schultzie_dude's Full Review: Spring Air Comfort Caress Collection Mattress |
In the summer of 2001, we purchased a Spring Air Comfort Caress Ambiance king-size set. Within one year, but after the dealer's return period, we found that the mattress was forming deep body imprints. My wife and I were "coffined" during sleep and began to awaken with increasingly severe lower back pain. I had never before experienced chronic back pain.
We consider this an expensive (~$2K) lesson, and we are shopping very carefully for a replacement. Having slept on this Spring Air mattress for 18 months, I am *seriously* considering a futon or even a Japanese tatami mat until we can afford a comfortable, well rated and well guaranteed replacement. That is a measure of the severity of the pain we experience.
If you turn this bed weekly (and I mean rotate not flip), you will find some relief. That is the strategy we are pursuing until we can replace the mattress.
Cosmetically, the bed is still very attractive, but the innards are not sufficient in design or quality to merit sale of this bed at any price. We will use this bed as a guest bed, as a few nights on it are not unpleasant.
When we have chosen and lived with a replacement, I will post an opinion of that product.
