Dying to know how bareyb likes his bed now that 8 years have passed by!

Our C&W king set was bought in Dec 2003. It was called "Bernadette Luxury" in Plush firm.

We LOVED this bed until 5 months ago when our backs began to hurt. Hubby now sleeps on floor while we research. This will be our 3rd new king set in 6 years (Tempur-Pedic hurt his back but we didn't realize this until just after the warranty expired!)

The C&W Bernadette body impressions are enough for warranty help, but our warranty is "void" due to "improper" support (that's total BS - the bed doesn't sag in the middle - we have 2 distinct body impressions where each of us sleeps, with a hump in the middle where no one sleeps. More support won't help body impressions - it only prevents sagging which we don't have.) We have a 20 yr old wood 4 poster king bed.

I'm trying to find innerspring specs for our Bernadette mattress & box spring as would like to find something similar that won't break down - because it was great for 5 1/2 yrs.

Bareyb has more "stuffing" on top of his bed so I have to assume he's in worse shape sooner than us - we went with non-pillowtop, quilt top.

Chattam and Wells mattress -- after four years (Reply to this comment)
by pgmagallanes
My wife and I bought a Chattam and Wells mattress, model "Isabella PT" queen nearly four years ago. We had no problems for the first three years or so. But this last year, the mattress has developed a serious sag. We notice it especially when both of us are in the bed. There are no impressions when we are not in the bed. The foundation appears flat and the box springs are very strong. I weigh 145 and my wife weighs 120. I hope this is an isolated case.

I was out looking for a new mattress today, and was all set to buy another brand in the same price range. The salesperson suggested the Chattam & Wells instead of the one I was leaning towards initially, and after laying on it I agreed that it had great comfort.

BTW, I too have back problems and chronic pain from CFS and thyroid disease. A good mattress is going to be key to my pain management.

Rather than rush into a such a large purchase on the recommendation of a salesperson, I first decided to come home and read some reviews on epinion.com, and found this review! Now I feel much more confident calling the store back to order the Chattam & Wells "Erica" mattress. Thanks a million!
