Pros: good selection of camera phones, nice staff, no deposit
Cons: Dropped calls, spending limits, lack of phones w/o cameras
The Bottom Line: If you want to avoid the "getro" service and can't afford a deposit, go with Sprint.

| fionaghal's Full Review: Sprint Mobile Phone Service in San Francisco/San J... |
I have been a Sprint customer for 7-8 years. I like the service for the most part, but I also have issues with it.
When I originally signed up I was a bit desperate for a phone and was just happy to find someone who would take me. Unlike other companies (at the time) they did not require a deposit and since I was low on cash... voila we have a winner.
At first I was just happy to have service. Then I began to notice issues with Sprint. First, they love to drop calls. I can be driving in an area and have full bars on my phone and drop a call. This makes no sense.
Second, they give you a spending limit and shut off your phone if you reach it. This means you absolutely must pay your bill on time. A few days late and your phone is shut off. I have asked them repeatedly why that is since I have paid my bill every month for years. It's there policy and they will not raise my limit for some unknown reason.
Third, the phone selection is getting limited. OK I might be strange but I don't need a phone that does everything! I like having the ability to check email on my phone and text message, but I have no use whatsoever for a camera phone. They are not allowed in my gym, my classes, or my work. At which point, why do I have the cell phone when I can't use it anywhere but on the road or at home?? Sprint wants you to have the camera phone and email each other pictures so that you can spend lots of money for the upload/download. So they now have like 2 or 3 phones for those who don't want to join the "picture mail" revolution. UGH!
As for the good things. I get free mobile to mobile since I've been a good customer for so many years. I have a decent phone (w/o camera) that I do like and it has some decent features that are fun to play with.
The people that work there are nice and friendly and for the most part I have the ability to use the phone when I need it.
