This game is basically about supernatural forces controlling humans and causing pain and death to the human race. There are four people that you can be; Avenger (strength), Defender (healing and protection), Judge (magic and power), and the Martyr (speed and powerups). The object of the game is to kill zombies, giant monsters, etc.
GRAPHICS
The graphics are exceptionally good. There are some minor flaws though. First of all, some of the people walk funny, and sometimes when a character is running, you find that the character's feet are dragging through the floor. When some people speak, the movements don't match sometimes like when someone's referring to him/herself, he points to him/herself around a few seconds after. (Graphics: 7.5/10)
PHYSICS
Some of the characters look funny. The character with speed for example. She has pink hair with parts of it sticking up and the way she dresses, she looks like a crazy women. Another character with the healing power has the left side of her pants torn off. The overall physics of the characters were done pretty smoothly though.
The enemies were basically zombies, zombie animals, giant monsters, and ghosts. All were made pretty well. The zombies limp and have lots of blood stains, the ghosts fly, and all of the rest of the monsters do what you'd think they would do.
The bosses, I have to comment, are sometimes silly looking. There is a spirit possessed teddy bear that grows about 50 times its size and barfs at you. The overall physics of the game is pretty decent though. (Overall Physics: 6.5/10)
GAMEPLAY
The gameplay, I have to admit, is not the best. Each character that I told you about above has his/her special combos. Each one basically has a triple hit combo which focuses at the front, or the twirl combo when you swing your weapon around by holding down the right trigger. Each character also starts with a shooting weapon that has unlimited ammo. The shooting weapons that they start with aren't that good but it really depends how good their accuracy attribute is. Each character also starts with a special ability or a magic attack. This is called an edge. Each character can learn up to three edges and each edge can get up to three times as powerful.
There are special weapons such as flame throwers, chain saws, machine guns, rocket launchers, etc. throughout the game.
The controls were quite decent and you could change the controls. You can use both sticks to have full control over your character. One to control where your facing and the other to control where you're walking so you can run backwards while shooting. I did not have any trouble in the game because of the controls.
Now, some of the monsters can get ridiculous even when there are three of them. One example are these female zombies that in one hit, they take away a 1/3 of your life. Another are these zombie dogs that are faster than you and have a fast attack rate. Sometimes this can get very annoying and you die because of two zombies. The levels are do-able but extremely hard.
THE WEAK POINT
The multiplayer is awful. You can have up to four players playing but all on one screen so you don't have that much room to move. If each player is trying to go the opposite direction, you can't go anywhere because you have to fit all of the characters on one screen. What's really stupid is the fact that the screen can't expand even a little bit when the players are spread out. Bosses are very hard this way because if someone is going the opposite direction as you and the boss is going for you, you'll be trapped because you can't run away. (Overall Gameplay: 6.5/10)
AUDIO
The sound effects for the game are good and fit it. If you strike a ghost you hear a high-pitched scream, or if you hit a zombie, you hear a low grunt. The music though is a different story. The music is only on if you are fighting a great amount of guys or if you're fighting a boss. The music is VERY repetitive. Each bit of music barely ever changes a beat and the it barely ever changes in melody . Sometimes you'd be hearing this annoying techmo or some type of weird music that's supposed to be scary. (Audio: 6.5/10)
OVERALL
This is a pretty decent game. Although there's almost no strategy involved, it can be challenging and fun. The selection of characters is pretty good and the special weapon idea was good. Thanks for reading!
