Practice Writing with your child

Written: Feb 10 '00
Pros:Creative way to practice writing, learn Morse Code & Have fun.
Cons:Small parts Choking Hazard warning for siblings under 3

Wild Planet produced another Toy in their Spy series the, 'Secret Messenger'! This toy is a very good tool to get a six or seven year old child to write messages to you.

My Seven year old son, Michael loves writing me messages with this toy. The Secret Code & Morse Code features also keep his mind learning new things. Use this toy with your child to create a bonding experience they will remember their whole lives.

Michael really likes it when I set up a treasure hunt using the invisible ink for clues. Set it up so he/she has to write a Secret Message back to you to get a new clue. You can include Math questions, History, Science, any kind of questions your child can answer. Done as a 'Secret Message' game, your child will love learning this way.

My grandmother used a game like this to get me to practice writing, this has a cool toy to go with the game. The Secret Messenger comes with invisible ink and the developer to read the message written in invisible ink. There are two little soft plastic rockets you can wrap your secret message around and then shoot over to your special Secret Agent. You use simple air power to blow the rocket safely and silently over to your Agent.

There is also a Morse Code light and a fold-out panel that has the Morse Code printed on it. You can teach your child Morse Code with this toy as you learn it yourself!

The folks at Wild Planet even included a special 'Coder' & 'Decoder Ring'; One on each of the two parts, for two Secret Agents to play together & send each other messages in a special code. There are also 2 extra watch batteries included for a total of three. These batteries power the Morse Code signal light.
