Pros: A lot of bang for the buck!
Cons: Craftsmanship is good, but far from the best.
The Bottom Line: A great guitar for the money. Solid alder body, and descent craftsmanship. Needs to be rewired with heavier gauge wire though. Great Floyd Lic. bridge.

I recently purchased a Stagemaster HH from my local music shop, and upon demoing it, I really was inpressed with the string action "out of the box". The neck was much slimmer than the standard "baseball bat" necks usually on Fenders, and the width was just right as to allow most any player to get their whole hand around it.
The tone was good, but if you have the cash and/or means, DO replace the pickups with something a little better. The jack plate was a little loose on mine, so I decided to tighten the screws a little, and while doing so I wanted to check out the wiring. The wires soldered to the input jack (and I assume for the rest of the electronics inside) could almost be used as dental floss. I HIGHLY recommend re-wiring the enitre guitar with good solid core wiring (Carvin sells a great wiring kit for roughly $9.00 that includes a lot of good stuff).. I am a fan of making sure the wiring is solid, and that is a major downfall with this guitar.
The Floyd Rose Licensed bridge seems to be really solid, and the double locking system on the guitar really does keep things in awesome tune! I intentionally dive bombed the strings, pulled at them a little, and let the bridge snap back into place, and not a string was out of tune. Definately a plus for those Van Halen fans.
The finish was good, and solid, but more "utility" than anything else. These guitars are not "flashy" but given the right modifications, will be a good dependable axe to play live with. If I had the need, I would buy another one, and make the same upgrades to it. Although these guitars are made in China, the fact that they are solid alder and the actual quality in which they were built, is quite refreshing.
