| mrsholloway's Full Review: St. Ives Apricot Scrub |
St. Ives products have appeared in my bathroom for as long as I can remember. My mother uses them, and she passed them down to my sister and me. As a teen, I used this scrub, and had radiant skin. I still use it! Now they have added a medicated version for acne prone skin (the one in the blue.) I use this one in the summer when I have a bit of extra oil.
As to what the product itself is like, the consistency is paste-like with walnut shell to provide the exfoliation. The scent is a fresh non-perfumey variety.
When I first began using this Apricot Scrub, the package was a tub-like jar. You simply whooshed some out with your fingers. Now it comes in a (much cleaner and waste proof) tube. The results are the same. You get wonderfully smooth, fresh skin. I use it as a body scrub as well. The walnut shell granules are large extra gritty scrubbers to take off all the dead, dull skin.
I have never noticed a discomfort while using this product, but I have read the opinions of others that say the scrubbing is too harsh. This may be a precaution for those with sensitive skin.
The only drawback that I have experienced is residue left in the hairline. I use this product in the bathtub, and wash my hair immediately afterward. If you are someone who does not shampoo daily, you may want to consider using a bathing cap while scrubbing your face.

I just found another version of this on the market! It is a sensitive skin formula with fine granules. This product comes in a clear 6 oz tube. It appears to be an orange gel with very small "specks" in it, which I assume are walnut shell powder.
