Pros: Inexpensive in price; good for all skin types.
Cons: Dries a tad sticky sometimes.
Over the past few years, one of my biggest Beauty obsessions (behind shampoos and conditioners, that is!) has revolved around purchasing and using various eye care products from many different brands, both the expensive department stores (such as Origins) as well as the more inexpensive drugstore choices (like Oil of Olay). So once I got hooked on various skin care products containing the popular Cucumber Melon scent, I knew it was just a matter of time before I gave this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel a try, especially since it's designed for all skin types. For I used to be very oily (strong emphasis on "used to"!!), but no longer thanks to my dermatologist and really strong prescription drugs. Now for the first time I'm learning how to take care of normal to dry skin, which is quite a welcome change nonetheless, believe me. But excess dryness and wrinkles are not very attractive, so read on to find out just what this surprisingly inexpensive facial gel does for the skin on my face, especially the eye area.
This St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel is a facial care product designed for all skin types. According to packaging advertising, this pleasantly fragranced gel instantly helps diminish lines and puffiness, even reducing the look of stress and fatigue around the eyes. Over the centuries, the Swiss have developed and perfected their secrets for naturally beautiful skin. Only St. Ives captures these secrets in a soothing gel with botanical extracts and proteins that hydrates and revitalizes skin, minimizing the effects of stress like lines, puffiness, and shadows. While it firms and tones the skin's outer layer, this concentrated facial gel with it's special Swiss formula leaves your face feeling cool and refreshed. It lightly moisturizes dry patches as needed without piling on excess oil like heavier products do. And even better, as a contact lens wearer I've experienced no eye irritation whatsoever when applying it to this tender, wrinkle prone area of the face. So when you want to wake-up tired skin, reach for this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel with it's sweet cucumber fragrance for a quick pick-me-up.
~~~Packaging & Price~~~
Each medium sized 4 ounce (113g) green recyclable tube of this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel can be purchased at most drug and discount stores such as Wal-Mart and online at www.drugstore.com for just $3. When you think about how most eye care products are packaged and priced these days (usually just one ounce or less for as much as $30 or more!), then this is an unbelievable bargain! But too good to be true?? Not so in my experience so far. Resting upright on it's flip-top lid, this facial treatment might last indefinitely when used on the eye area only. I've had mine a few months now and still have more than half left. Picturing the Swiss Alps as well as some sliced cucumbers on the front with the St. Ives logo, this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel should be placed on every Beauty lovers shopping list at least once.
~~~Directions for Use~~~
According to packaging directions, apply this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel at the beginning or end of the day. Pat gently around eyes and other areas prone to stress lines and dryness. Allow to dry before applying make up. Avoid contact with eyes. May cause irritation. I use this gel twice daily: once in the morning after I wash my face upon arising and then again at bedtime to keep the skin around my eyes moisturized and more firm. As stated above, I've yet to experience any eye irritation when using this facial gel. To relieve the dryness and occasional peeling I've noticed around my bottom lip recently, I also apply this clear gel with a somewhat slimy consistency to these areas several times a day. A tiny dab will easily cover this wrinkle-prone area of my face, and it almost fully absorbs in just a few minutes. I do use separate, more expensive eye gels under my make-up, however, since this product does dry a bit sticky at times. So when compared to others I've tried recently, this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel can definitely hold its own and works just as well as the pricier brands.

For the price, you can't go wrong giving this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel a shot at least once! The cucumber extract minimizes fine lines and puffiness (wonder why fine spas place real cucumbers over the eyes?) while the elastin (a protein) firms as it reduces the appearance of stress and fatigue on the face, especially the eye area. And when heavy moisturizers are just too much, this light and easy to apply gel gives you just enough refreshing hydration without feeling greasy. Discover the Swiss secrets for smooth, radiant skin as desirable results do not always have to come with a high price tag. I am very happy with the moisturizing results I get from this St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel, so it is therefore a highly recommended skin care product in my book. Good luck and stay beautiful :-)
