I have always been plagued with pesky undereye circles, no matter how much sleep I got. I noticed recently my 4 year old daughter sporting them also, so I turned to my mom and found that she'd inherited them from her mother and so on and so forth. Lovely, just what I always wanted from mom...why couldn't she have just given me her red hair instead? ;-). So last August I broke down and decided to try this St Ives Dark Circle Diminisher - I was heading back to college and really didn't want to look like the tired old woman I fear I was becoming.
I started using it every night like the tube said, applied it lightly before bed religiously. I was nervous about the claim that it may cause burning or irritation, but notta tingle bothered me. After a week I did notice a slight lightening under my eye, WooHoo! After 2 more weeks, it had lightened up a bit more - but no more after that at all. Overall I'd say my circles are maybe about 20 percent lighter - and it did make them less noticeable to the casual observer.
Although another good side effect was the over all smoothness that my eye regained while using the product. I have worn contacts since I was about 13 years old, and 15 years of pulling down my bottom eyelids every morning and night has left me with a few extra wrinkles right beneath the eyelash line...I have noticed that those lines have all but completely disappeared. For that reason alone - I will continue to use this product.
Unfortunately, one month we went on vacation and I left my tube of Circle Diminisher at home - and by the time I got back home, my eyes had pretty much reverted back to their former wrinkly, circled selves. (heavy sigh) So I had to start pretty much from scratch again.
I will give St Ives Circle Diminisher this stamp of approval though...since I have to be up and out of bed at 5am every morning, even after a long night of studying - it has probably helped a ton in keeping my circles from getting any darker than they could be from lack of sleep.
