What is it?
ˇ St. Ives Whipped Silk Intense Body Moisturizer is a lotion that has a fresh scent and is packaged in an extremely dull, 414mL (14 fl oz) white bottle with a navy blue flip top cap.
ˇ The lotion dispenses from a hole in the flip top that is in the shape of an asterisk/star.
ˇ The lotion is white and light in consistency.
ˇ The lotion is affordable; a 414 mL (14 fl oz) bottle ranges between $2 - $4, which is quite a steal compared to other lotions (such as Bath and Body Works) which sell 236 mL (8 fl oz) bottles of lotion for $9.

What's the verdict?
St. Ives Whipped Silk Intense Body Moisturizer is a wonderful lotion that leaves skin soft and hydrated for hours.
When I was sniffing the scents at Target, I thought that St. Ives Whipped Silk Intense Body Moisturizer smelled a little ... alcoholic. It was strange; it reminded me of hard liquor. Want to smell like gin for the day? Just kidding. The lotion smells wonderful on skin, even though it has a strong potent scent in the bottle. The lotion has a very faint scent on the skin, so no worries.
When I flipped up the top, I found it funny that the hole was in a shape of a star/asterisk. For such a plainly designed bottle, why would they even bother putting anything different on the opening? The lotion squirts out with a little ripple shape and is a good consistency. It's not thick and it's also not watery. When I rubbed the lotion into my skin, I found that it absorbed quickly, leaving my skin soft and smooth. Running my hand down the newly moisturized skin, I was pleased to find that there was no greasy or sticky feeling of just applied lotion. The lotion also passed the "sniff test"; a faint pleasant scent, nothing so strong as to cause headaches by any means.
The lotion leaves my skin moisturized for hours. It requires some more application, though, if you are a frequent hand washer (as I am). I tend to use St. Ives Whipped Silk Intense Body Moisturizer as a body lotion and use another lotion for my hands at work.
My only complaint is very superficial ... the lotion is packaged in a very plain and boring bottle. St. Ives doesn't seem to be able to pull off the "plain yet functional" look of Neutrogena. Instead, St. Ives' version of "plain yet functional" looks terribly unappealing. I'm going to pour St. Ives Whipped Silk Intense Body Moisturizer into an empty Bath and Body Works body lotion bottle (labels removed) to remedy the look. Strange, but true.
