My Experience
The first St. Ives body wash that I used was St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizing Body Wash. It did a great job in cleaning and was a great, every day body wash. I decided to try another St. Ives body wash after having such a positive experience with the St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizing Body Wash. I figured that since the words ultra moisturizing was used to describe this body wash, it would help my dry skin.
The Whipped Silk Body Wash is easily dispensed from the container. I squeeze about a half dollar size amount of the body wash onto my loofah. The scent is not strong; its a faint floral scent. The body wash is thinner than I expected and is very purple. The body wash works easily into a lather. Using the body wash didnt feel any different that other body washes. Rinsing the body wash was easily accomplished.
After toweling off, I noticed that my skin was a little itchy. At first, it was just my forearms but then my legs started to itch as well. I checked my skin out and there were no strange rashes or bumps. I couldnt understand why my skin had such a reaction to the body wash. I hadnt been using extremely hot water while showering, so that could not explain the itchiness. I did use the body wash after that incident and did continue to find that my skin was slightly itchy afterwards so I have since discontinued using the body wash. Im sure that my experience is atypical and that many have used this product without any problems. (As a side note, I do not have sensitive skin. I have used many, many products and body washes without such a reaction.)
I am rating St. Ives Whipped Silk Body Wash with one star based on my own personal experience with it. I am sure that if your skin does not have any reactions to it, it would serve as a wonderful, every day body wash.
St. Ives Whipped Silk Body Wash would be a great product
if my skin didnt have a negative reaction!
Thanks for reading!
