In mid August just past, 2005,
days before the beginning of the new school term, three to be exact
I received a somewhat harried call from the principal at one of our local elementary schools
. He needed a fourth grade teacher NOW, as a matter of fact, yesterday would have been even better. In a flurry of activity to get my California teaching Credential updated to an Oklahoma one, fingerprints and back ground check done, and the like, I made a discovery I wasnt altogether happy to learn. As we age our fingerprints can become nearly unreadable: no prints, no credential. What to do?

My kindly local police officer told me to get and USE a heavy duty, creamy lotion as often as possible for the two weeks following his taking my prints at the Dewey, OK police department. He said the state department would be calling in about 2 weeks, and, that I should again have readable prints in that length of time.
I WAS tad skeptical as off I sped to WalMart, snatched up a bottle of St. Ives Whipped Silk and began slathering on the lather so to speak. Sure enough, 2 weeks later, I got a frantic call to rush to Oklahoma City to be fingerprinted on the machine by the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations. Hubby drove, I slathered, and VIOLA
. I got prints!! (AND my credential)
Product and Packaging
My now, near empty, soon to be replaced with another container of Whipped Silk comes in a 12 oz. plastic bottle. The bottle itself is white, with a dark blue flip top lid. While many of the St. Ives' lotions have a pump, this particular product squeezes through a little star shaped hole in the top of the bottle. It looks almost like a cake deco as the lotion is squeezed out. Doesnt do a thing for the moisturizing I suppose, nonetheless, I like it.
I found the St. Ives Whipped Silk displayed on the shelf in WalMarts Health and Beauty department where stood a number of other hand lotion products. Im a died in the wool user of St. Ives products, moreover, the words Intense Body Moisturizer on the bottle caught my attention immediately. Intense Body Moisturizer, or at least intense fingerprints area moisturizer, was indisputably what I was looking for. The pleasant, soft petal breeze scent seems to be specifically intended for extra dry skin. NOTE: The scent may be a little stronger than I actually detect: I have allergies to the point that I cannot smell just hit skunks laying dead on the road
and, I AM able to catch a little of the scent as I apply it to my skin. I did notice a second scent is available, dont know that Ill need to change, but it is nice to know Fresh Orchard Mist is available if I get the yen for variety.
I have long used St. Ives products simply because I learned long ago; they do not test on animals and produce an exceptionally good, high quality product that is priced well below many other products available. I have not been disappointed with my bottle of Whipped Silk. I use it on feet, arms and legs as well as fingertips and find the claim on the bottle to be accurate: whipped for indulgent skin therapy, proven to leave even the driest skin silky soft, never greasy.'
I purchased this product from Walmart for under $5. It's a nice, super softening, silky moisturizer for use head to toe. And, will even help restore your fingerprints if you have the need!

I think St. Ives Whipped Silk certainly more than holds it own against the more expensive moisturizers available today. It is a sumptuous feel going on and for some time to follow during the day. Im sold, St. Ives Whipped Silk unquestionably is a must have for this little old lady school marm.
