When the Stacker products first hit the market they were an innovative blend of ephedrine and ephedra based weight loss / energy supplements that were a huge hit. NVE, the manufacturer, promoted their products in various ways and the word spread through the gyms and cardio centers like wildfire - finally there was a product that worked to give you extra energy and help you lose weight without the harsh jitters like Mini-Thins. When all the controversy hit the fan about people abusing products like this, companies like NVE were forced to reformulate things; essentially making it impossible to get products like Stacker 2 unless you knew of a store that had a ton of them in their overstock. There’s been some talk about new laws going into effect to allow products with ephedrine and ephedra back on the market but I won’t believe it until I see the bottles on the shelves and read the ingredients.
I had been trying to find a couple of bottles of Stackerdrene at my local sport supplement stores and no one had it in stock; either they were sold out or couldn’t order it from NVE because they were out of stock. With only a couple left in the bottle I started to panic and headed to GNC to see if they had any. Low and behold, there on the sale shelf were three boxes of Stacker 2 Thermo Infusion. I knew that this had Stackerdrene in it but there was no way I was going to buy a kit when all I wanted was one of the items in it. Looking at the box, it was stickered at $19.99 - still too much for me to pay for a sixty count bottle. When I looked at the boxes behind them I saw two others that were marked at $9.99 - now that was a price that I couldn’t pass up. When I asked the manager about the box that had the higher price he told me that he’d sell it to me for the lower price if I wanted it and he’d throw in some blister packs of other fat burners and energy enhancers if I’d buy all three boxes of the Thermo Infusion. I would have done the Ren & Stimpy ‘Happy Happy Joy Joy’ dance right then and there but alas, there were too many drop dead gorgeous guys in the store at the time.
Stacker 2 Thermo Infusion Weight Loss System
This is a two product kit that is designed to help give you extra energy, fight off cravings, burn fat and help make the task of weight loss somewhat more manageable. I say this in every single review of products that are used for weight or fat loss - this stuff isn’t going to work unless you get off your butt and exercise. If weight loss products worked without having to exercise - guess what - no one would be fat. Companies would be out of business and whomever patented this miracle weight loss product would be so rich that he or she could use hundred dollar bills to wipe their butts. Now that you have left Never Never Land and come back to reality ... Stacker 2 Thermo Infusion will give you the extra energy you need [Stackerdrene] to stay on track with training and exercise and the Glucodrene helps with craving and food consumption. This isn’t something that you should just walk into a store, purchase and start using. No, you have to know what you are putting into your system as well as what the ingredients are going to do to you. There are warning labels on the products for a reason - not just to protect the manufacturer from lawsuits but so that you, the consumer, knows what the deal is with the products, possible side effects and how to use them properly. Exceeding the suggested dose won’t do anything but give you stomach cramps and waste your supplement supply so remember .. no double dipping!
Stackerdrene

Dose: One capsule before lunch and one before dinner.
While it may have seemed like I was trashing Stackerdrene when I first reviewed it, I have come to really like the product over the past year or so. It has given me the ability to perform better at the gym and when I go for walks, doesn’t give me the jitters and there’s almost no crash from it when it wears off. This contains 150 milligrams of caffeine per capsule [the suggested dose before meals] so you are going to get a little bit of a kick from it but to make the most of this product you have to cycle it with something else so you don’t build up a tolerance to it. Since most of the over the counter fat burner and energy products contain basically the same ingredients you will want to look for something that has a lower or higher dose of caffeine in it along with other ‘natural’ ingredients. Stackerdrene isn’t as harsh or as heavy a hitter as earlier Stacker products like
Stacker 2 or Stacker 3 but you will notice something from it. I suggest taking this for two weeks then taking a few days off of it or using something else in its place then going back on it.
Stacker suggests that you take one capsule before lunch and another before dinner; this is just their suggestion. It works best for me when I take it on an empty stomach before I go to the gym. If you have a sensitive stomach then you might want to have something small with it like a cracker or piece of a granola bar but that is optional. You should start to feel something from this in about twenty minutes [if you take it on an empty stomach], thirty to forty five minutes if you take it after a meal. The benefits of taking it before a workout are that you get some extra energy and you don’t feel hungry. Since this has caffeine in it you should avoid taking this at night unless you aren’t concerned with sleep. Since this has 150 milligrams of caffeine in it - it is enough to keep you from falling right to sleep and you might experience some anxious moments if you start tossing and turning. If you get extremely bad headaches, experience dizziness, cramps or light headedness you will want to stop taking this and consult a physician. This is a product that is designed to give you extra energy as well as act as a thermogenic product so you can expect to have some excess sweating when taking this. Remember to drink plenty of water, take regular breaks when exercising and cycle this every few weeks with a companion product.
Glucodrene
Glucomannan / Konjac root, gelatin, stearic acid, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate.
Dose: Two capsules with large glass of water before meals.
In this kit you get a 180 count bottle of Glucodrene. It is designed to help you fight off cravings, give you the sensation that you are full and keep blood glucose levels stable. You know what, let’s throw all that crap out the window - none of it has been evaluated by the FDA so they can say that it helps with ingrown toenails or hair loss and it doesn’t mean jack diddly. This is what I know - the bottle says to take two capsules before a meal so that it will help fill you up. I didn’t expect this to work in the least - if anything I sort of expected it to leave me feeling bloated and uncomfortable. What happened? Well, my cravings for certain foods decreased and I didn’t have that nagging sensation that I had to eat something. To me this is a dangerous thing. I can’t just have a small snack, once I open a bag or pretzels or chips - there’s no turning back. I have will power and can control myself most of the time but when I can’t it’s a disaster. This won’t help you with specific cravings like chocolate or something salty but it will give you the feeling that you are full and don’t need that second helping of mashed potatoes or pasta.
Now, the most important thing to know about this is that you have to take this with a lot of water. If you think I am joking I want you to take one of these and drop it in a glass of water. It might take a while but when the coating of the capsule melts away you will see exactly how much the Glucodrene expands. It’s a natural fiber from the konjac root so it isn’t something that is going to be sitting in your stomach for a year clogging you up. If you have trouble swallowing capsules or pills then you might want to not take this product since NVE says that it could cause choking if it gets lodged in your throat. The best way to get these down is to make sure that you swish them around in your mouth so the gelatin coating is completely wet, then swallow it. Since they recommend that you take two capsules a half hour before a meal, you might want to take these one at a time until you are satisfied that you can swallow them without them getting stuck..
If it feels like it’s stuck drink small amounts of water [to avoid feeling bloated in the process] until the feeling passes but above all else, do not panic, if you panic then it will make it that much harder to swallow it. When I dropped one of these in a glass of water it took about nine minutes for the casing to melt away - in that amount of time you should be able to get this down your throat. If you are worried about taking this I highly suggest that you drop this in a glass of water to see what happens. Before it pops open or bursts the capsule swells to almost twice it’s original size ... it’s pretty cool to watch it happens. It expands slowly to about the size of a cotton ball once it breaks out of the capsule but once you start swishing the water around it does break up a little - the same thing that will happen inside your stomach.
Price
This kit isn’t cheap but you are getting a pretty good value when you add up what it would cost to purchase things separately. I picked these up for $9.99 a box at GNC but the suggested retail price on them was $44.95. There were sale stickers on the box so the price went from the original $44.95 to $32.99 to $19.99 to $9.99. Since I was only interested in the Stackerdrene to begin with and I was used to paying $7.99 for a 20 count bottle - getting the 60 count bottle made it a deal that I just couldn’t pass up. I can’t say that this isn’t worth the $44.95 that it normally sells for because it does work and I have never seen the Glucodrene sold separately so this might be the only way to get this product unless you order directly from the NVE Pharmaceuticals Online Store, and even then, there is no guarantee that they are going to have it in stock.
Warnings
If you are sensitive to caffeine or have had problems with it in the past then you should not use Stackerdrene since it contains 150 milligrams of caffeine per dose. The claims by the manufacturer have not been evaluated by the FDA [Food & Drug Administration] and this product isn’t intended to treat, cure or prevent any type of disease. The bottles are not safety sealed so you will want to keep them out of reach of children or in a locked closet. Both of these products could do serious harm to a child if they are ingested so please, exercise caution when storing these. If you are pregnant or nursing you should not consume either of these products. If you have any type of ongoing medical condition, have had a stroke, are being treated for high blood pressure, are taking any type of prescription medication - you should not take this without first consulting a physician.
The Bottom Line
Since I had been looking to stock up on Stackerdrene and wasn’t having any luck it was fate that made me walk into that GNC store and see the Thermo Infusion kit on sale. Instead of paying $7.99 for a 20 count bottle I got the equivalent of three bottles for $9.99 and the Glucodrene. I won’t say that this is the very best weight loss product on the market but it works. You have to remember that you didn’t gain weight or get fat over night so you can’t expect the pounds to just fly off you. Give it time, stick with it and remember to exercise and your hard work will pay off. Using a system like this will give you extra energy and allow you to fight off some cravings but you have to take a break from it every once in a while for it to remain effective. I have a lot of faith in the Stacker line of products and recommend them to people all the time, NVE has always given me stellar customer service when I needed to call them about a product. If you are looking for an ephedra free weight loss system then I highly suggest that you check out this product to see if it is something that can help you with your weight loss goals.
