Stage Deli is a MUST if you are going to NYC. I recall last year, my family and I were standing outside waiting to get in (it being a popular restaurant and and all). A waitress brought us small cups of chicken soup. They didn't have to do that, but it was very kind, and warmed everyone up. As far as I know, they don't take reservations, but I can easily be mistaken. Don't worry, they wait time is relatively short, and you will be seated faster than you think. The wait is worth it. Upon entering, you notice pictures of all the movie stars who have dined there. To your side you see a showcase of all the desserts they sell, very tempting. You get seated rather quickly, and get your menu. You order a sandwich, thinking it can't possible be anything special - then they carry out a mountain that is your sandwich, and you are quite impressed. I really don't have a favorite dish, since everything is very good, and done well.
I think anyone would enjoy this restaurant. It has style and isn't that expensive, and it beats McDonald's any day of the week (except some major holidays, just kidding).
