Pros: Great value for the money (approx. $119 retail).
Cons: Need to periodically adjust resistance level during workout (minor complaint).
The Bottom Line: If you want a portable, very sturdy and quiet, uncomplicated stepper, then this is your machine! Bare bones in fancy options but provides a great workout. Comes largely assembled.

Remarkably sturdy, many resistance settings, very quiet when in use (you can easily watch TV while using). Folds and transports easily. I live in a studio apartment and wanted a piece of exercise equipment that would provide a workout equivalent to what I can get at my local gym but it had to be portable and small enough to store when not in use. This has met my needs perfectly; I even prefer it to my gym's high priced Lifecycle Stairmasters. Good for injuries since each stair's resistance level is adjusted individually.
Putting on the foam-like handlebar covers was an exercise in frustration; I recommend that you use lots of soap or oil (lay a towel on the floor to catch the excess when doing this). I generally have to adjust the resistance once or twice during a workout because the resistance decreases once the hydraulic cylinders heat up (a minor hassle). Does not feature Lifecycle-like workout choices (hill, random, race, etc.) but you can still get a great workout by varying the pace and resistance level.
Overall, the producers of this product stuck to the basics and did them well. I have already gotten a lot of mileage out of this product but I haven't owned it long enough to know whether the cylinders will require maintenance (oil) or give out eventually. At $120 I can well afford to buy another in a few years if they wear out but I don't expect that to happen. Last word: was only able to buy on-line which was disappointing because of the S/H costs.
