Stanley® Aluminum Wheel Measuring Wheel featuring inches and feet was the device construction engineer Husband used for many years prior to his retirement and during his tenure as a safety professional. He measured everything from huge course of construction mega malls, to ancient Texaco gas stations to schools large and small of varying age and structure and to any other commercial building as requested by the company for which he worked.
Following Husband's retirement; the wheel became one more measuring device for classroom usage as my fourth grade studied measurement and we measured the length of our hallway, and the sidewalk running around the block where our school building stands.
This non digital, non metric Stanley Measuring Wheel offers a gear driven, 5 digit counter to 99,999. Manufactured from wear resistant Delrin in a weather resistant housing; the counter features an easy to use Push button Reset.
DuPont's 1952 polymer patented in 1956 as Delrin® a synthesized acetal polyoxymethylene is one of the decidedly malleable engineering resin polymers used for bridging the chasm between metals and common plastics.
Widely acclaimed for versatility; Delrin is a lightweight, exceedingly machinable, low-friction, durable plastic competent of operating in temperatures in excess of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. While Husband did not often find himself in extremes of heat or cold; there were times, particularly during oil field machinery inspections, that the wheel did come into contact with some extremes of heat, none of which reached 200 degrees.
The counter continued functioning well despite heat or cold, in all weather, and ground or surface condition. Delrin's resilience, robustness, and self-lubricating properties which cause it to be an excellent material for use as stock lifters in most dies as well as stock guides maintained the reliability of the counter in Husband's Stanley wheel. As an added feature the counter both added and subtracted as needed.

MeasureMark® measuring wheel measurements are presented in feet and inches, feet and 10ths, or meters and decimeters.
Accurate for measuring in feet and inches the uncomplicated to read scale, has always operated smoothly, reset quickly, plus, the kick stand, standard on the 12 inch wheel made survey work go quickly without problem. Osage County Fourth Grade did not use the kick stand, however, students did use the wheel themselves for measuring.
