Pros: High Torque; Affordable; Digital, Phono and Line outputs; up to 25% pitch bend!!!
Cons: key adjustment sounds awful - sounds like the beat is doubled up
The Bottom Line: If you are needing tables to play out with, wait and buy Technics 1200's - For all other applications STR8-100's do the trick

| djrev's Full Review: Stanton STR8-100 Turntable |
For the person that doesn't want to spend a fortune on turntables (or just doesn't have the patience to save up for Tech 1200's) I highly recommend the STR8-100's or the ST-100's. These tables have PLENTY of Torque (2.2 Kgf-cm as opposed to the 1200's with 1.5 Kgf-cm.) There is little you would have to adjust in your playing when DJing at a club or party on 1200's. Some of the extra features like the up to 25% pitch adjustment can come in handy when doing work at the studio or at home. The digital outputs are nice for doing remixes when using a quality sound card.
I've played in clubs and at parties with 1200's and the STR8-100's have very comparable torque - therefore these are what I bought for my home system. Go try them out - take a record or two and give 'em a spin...you will be impressed.
