blackburnsport's Full Review: Staples Accentra 1513: Paperpro Compact Stapler
As we all know, stapling can be a pain in the "hand". Have you ever had to stand up and exert a ridiculous amount of weight to try and shove that staple into a paper packet? It's ridiculous! Now say you have a HUGE pile of papers sitting on your desk, waiting to be organized, and stapled in proper order. All I know is my hand is cramping by the time I reach my last packet. It's not fun. However, there are people in the world, solving simple problems, and improving ergonomics. Thank goodness for those great thinkers. This stapler saves A LOT of muscle cramping. Like it says, "One Finger" is all it takes to shoot a staple from this amazing beauty.
DESIGN The design of this stapler is absolutely amazing. The way it fits in my hand is great. It's extremely comfortable, and conforms to the palm. However, it can be pushed with just one finger with great ease. It just depends on your preference. There is a way awesome spring action that cause you to exert less force when trying to push a staple through 15 pages, because it springs into action for you.
COOL ASPECTS This stapler does not have the old exposed spring that slides the block forward to keep all the staples in place. It has an auto spring action that shoots out the end enough for you to load your staples, then you shove it back the way it came out. It fits nicely between the staples two prongs. It keeps it all nice, neat and in place. Another cool thing about it, is that at the lip where the staple comes out, there is a little claw that is a safety mechanism. In order for the staple to shoot out, this little claw has to be pushed up in order for it to release the staple. Great way to protect kids from shooting staples out and causing some damage or injury. Lastly, it is lime green. Lime green and black are awesome together. It looks hip and stylish, rather than the dull boring black and silver. Spice up your work area a little!
DURABILITY The one thing that I'm not impressed with is that it's made of plastic. They don't make things like they used to. It has great design and everything, but I don't know how long it's going to last. I would caution you...if your going to use it constantly, then I would suggest buying something that is made out of a more durable substance like metal. But for the average daily use of here and there, then I would think it's the one for you.
CONCLUSION It is a really radical stapler. It feels great, looks great, works great....and overall....it's just awesome! The spring action helps reduce effort. It has a cool safety mechanism, and spring action loader. The only problem I have is it's made out of plastic. Other than that, it's worth the 10 bucks in my opinion.
