My other half loves coffee and I do mean loves it. It is everything to the beginning of his morning. It isnt just the type of coffee but it is the way he grinds the beans to the way he brews it. I was never a serious coffee drinker until we moved in together and he turned me into one.
The one staple to any coffee drinkers life is the brewing pot. What to use? There are so many different machines out there, but I truly believe that he has bought the best around. My fiancé bought the Starbucks Barista Aroma Coffee Maker from Starbucks for $150.00. He purchased it over three years ago and it has yet to fail us once.
The Starbucks Barista Aroma Coffee Maker comes in black and white for colors. We have ours in black. It is 8 x 9 x 15 in dimensions. There is a clock on the bottom of the coffee maker that stands out from where the pot goes in. It is rubberized and has buttons for : auto on, hours, minutes, program, on/off. You can time the coffee for up to 24 hours later to brew. This comes in handy for my other half when he gets up at 5:30am for work in the morning and wants to take coffee to work. There is an auto shut off on the Starbucks Barista Aroma Coffee Maker when it is done brewing.
The water tank is removable with a lid that flips up to pour the water into. You can use tap water or bottled on your preference, either way we have decided that the coffee still tastes great. There have been those moments when we didnt have the energy or the quarter to buy another gallon of water. Yes, times can be tough once in a while.
The thermal carafe that the coffee drips down into is made of steel. When they say thermal carafe they mean it as well. It can keep the coffee hot for up to 12 hours and I mean scalding hot. I have made that mistake before and burned my hand before when pouring out the coffee. When my fiancé comes home for his break after leaving the house at 5:30am at 10am the coffee is still hot and tastes like it was just brewed.
There is a 2 year warranty on the Starbucks Barista Aroma Coffee Maker but we never needed it. There has never been a problem with it but it was nice knowing that during the first 2 years if there was a defect, we could replace it.
The thermal carafe holds about 40 fl oz which ends up being about 5 decently sized cups of coffee. It has a drip brewing method so the coffee is freshly brewed.
The top of the part has a lever that you push down on to open up the filter. It comes standard with a filter that is replaceable and fits perfectly inside. We havent needed to replace the filter yet either as we have kept it clean and unbroken. The filter itself has a flip top holder so it is easy to carry and lift out and put back in. When you put the filter in and close the filter door the lever will click so that you know it is in place.
Why do I love it so much? Well for one, it brews a mean cup of coffee. I love the thermal carafe that is great when we take our drives and we want coffee on the way. I love that the coffee stays hot for so long and tastes still like it was just made after all that time has passed. I am in love with the fact that I can time it for my fiancé so that when he has to make it out of bed at 5:30am he at least has the smell for great coffee. The timer is so easy to use, a child could do it.
I am crazy about this coffee maker and I would never think of owning another one. When this one has its day and has to retire, I will just go out and purchase another. It is the staple to our kitchen just like coffee is the staple to our day.
Until next time,
K Parsons
