Pros: The coffee stays warm in the carafe for hours.
Cons: It brews the most bitter cup of coffee ever!
The Bottom Line: This machine brews the worst cup of coffee that we have ever had, and it should not take repeated "fixes" to try to get coffee that we could actually drink.

We purchased this machine with much anticipation, as we exclusively use Starbucks coffee at home, and grind it ourselves. Our first batches were terrible, and so we repeatedly "seasoned" the machine according to the instructions. We tried the machine daily for almost three months, and ended up tossing away more coffee than we drank. We began to suspect that the real reason they give you a free bag of beans with purchase is for you to not feel bad about throwing away so much coffee! We tried many configurations, brewing with/without flow through lid, and we even switched to their metal filter from a paper system, to no avail. Perhaps the interior seals are getting scorched by hot water but the coffee has a definite taste of burned plastic. This morning we have gone back to our old Braun machine, and the difference was startling.
