The Bottom Line: Recommended to all serious coffee lover in the market for a great thermal carafe coffee maker. Did I mention you get a half-pound of FREE coffeebeans too!!

I must say I've seen many thermal coffee makers out in the market lately but none has come close to the features that I was looking for than this Starbucks Aroma Thermal Brewer.
One of the features that I liked so much is the well thought-out thermal carafe. It is solidly built and has a lid with a rather clever pop-up feature that is among the fastest and easiest to open and close. It is cool to the touch even after immediate brewing and it looks absolutely fantastic--very low key, yet very, very stylish! I have looked at the Krups, Cuisinart, DeLonghi and other models and none has sized up to the many novel features of the Aroma (except for--perhaps--a rather high-tech looking Bosch model selling for around $250 dollars or more) Additionally, not only is the removable water tank a very clever idea, but it's also quite practical--a definite plus for easy cleaning and refilling! I've also tested the time it takes to keep the coffee at the stable temperature. And let me tell you that it indeed keeps it hot for at least four hours.
Overall, the Starbucks Aroma is a beautiful machine (I got the white one). I've even brought the carafe to the office, much to envious looks from my coffee-crazed co-workers! In spite of a few minor cons, it has a lot going for it than most similar models in the market today. As we all know, coffee stains! And like all small appliances (coffee makers especially), regular cleaning and maintenance is an absolute must. I didn't find the the stainless steel carafe that hard to clean, although it MUST be dried immediately to avoid water spotting. I must say that I am so relieved that I will never break a glass carafe again, ever! All those pesky things take is a slight ding on your porcelain (or otherwise) kitchen sink and bam!--you're off to the Bed Bath & Beyond for a replacement! Lastly, I don't see how any serious coffee enthusiast would even consider a glass-carafe with metal hot plate models anymore. I would never go back to those particular models again. Highly recommended and a definite best buy if it goes on sale.
