Just returned mine--it was such a disappointment! I read the instructions cover to cover. I tried the suggestions in the troubleshooting section under "Coffee is not hot enough," including pre-heating the carafe (which completely negates the value of the timer) and taking the carafe out right away and making sure the little button is in the closed position.
But still, the coffee in the carafe was cold after about 45 minutes. Personally, I need at least 2 hours' supply out of a carafe of coffee--and cold coffee just doesn't cut it!
On the plus side, the folks at Starbucks were great about taking it back, even though I couldn't get it back into the box right.
I don't mind paying over the odds for a coffee maker; this is an important part of my day, and I'm willing to spend to enjoy it. But if I want cold coffee, I'll drink mine iced, thank you, not lukewarm!
