Cons: Plastic, common guys, you should have known!
The Bottom Line: Great coffee, but derability is questionable, make sure to check the warranty and get your money's worth!

| angelini's Full Review: Starbucks Barista Utopia |
Well hello again, fellow epinionators! Just checking in for my once a year epinion, back in style.
So let's talk about the Starbucks Utopia . So I work there, I guess I should have a high opinion of the product, well I do, but there's a few faults, just a few.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Perks -=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The Utopia , which looks like some kind of bazarre contraption is actually a coffee brewer, and the coffee it produces is one of the best I have tasted yet! If any of you have had coffee in a press, or bodum, you get that full flavor that every coffee cup should have. The Utopia has that same wonderful flavor minus the grit that you may find in a bodum cup! Very tasty!
The machine is quite easy to use, you use 8 oz. of coffee to every cup of water, ground on #7, just as you would for a flat bottom coffee filter. You fill the upper portion (which is removable) with the coffee, and the lower kraft with the water. To seperate areas, but the form together in what is called Vaccume brewing. So this takes about 2 1/2 minutes for about 8 cups to brew, and when this happens, the water is sucked up (the vaccume) in the top sector where it mixes and gathers the flavor and aroma of your coffee. Then it filters through the removable disk filter back into the kraft where the clear water was originally in. There is a red light that will be on while the coffee is ready, and only for an hour after the coffee is brewed. Then once your red light has gone off the coffee has expired!
Also this coffee machine has a clock at which you can time your morning coffee just as you would an alarm clock to brew at the crack of dawn.
The machine, I must also mention it is very easy to clean. Both portions may go in the dishwasher, and the filter disk is removable.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Uh Oh, What did they forget?-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Well I understand that at Starbuck's (where I work) we brew this machine ton's and tons, but when the coffee kraft plastic starts cracking, what can you do?? What good is a coffee maker without a pot? Next time Starbuck's, try some other material that may work more then a year or so!
Also, with the clear plastic model, you must use and clean similtaniously, or else you will end up with a brown mildew on the side of your coffee kraft.
