Pros: Good fast coffee, easy clean-up, cool design.

| adamparish's Full Review: Starbucks Barista Utopia |
I bought the graphite Starbucks Utopia from starbucks.com, which was a great experience in itself. Starbucks.com is one of a few on-line retailers that will ship to a Post Office box (this is a big deal for me). I received a free bag of ground house blend coffee with my order, which I thought was a nice touch for such an expensive purchase.
Now on to the product...
The utopia is cool. Plain and simple I get tons of compliments on my vacuum brewing contraption. All of these compliments about the design and it also happens to make a good cup of coffee. You also don't need to fiddle around with paper filters. In addition the entire brewing process is viewable (and audible).
I've heard of other owners of this device that have had to replace their included silk filter. The good news is that Starbucks will replace this for free. When I was researching my purchase a Starbuck's employee at the store stated her silk filter had to be replaced and it was replaced for free. The warranty covers "normal wear" for two years from date of purchase. By the way, my filter is still in great shape after many daily brews.
I also really appreciate the timer function. Just load up your coffee and water and the smell and sounds of vacuuming brewing coffee always gets me out of bed.
