Pros:Great taste. Makes a great gift.
The Bottom Line: Great taste. Makes a great gift.
I confess, I'm an addict. Chocolate is my drug of choice. I wander from one brand to another just out of curiosity but I always, always, always have a stash. At Christmas my family lavishes me with chocolate.

This year I got tons of Starbucks Dark Chocolate Espresso Bean including a 5 lb bag! Stupendous. I love Starbucks, I love coffee and I love chocolate so deep dark chocolate covered coffe beans were just about the best gift I got. They keep very well in the fridge and can even be frozen so I can consider myself stocked for the duration.
This creation consists of individual espresso coffee beans covered in or enrobed as chocolatiers describe it, in dark bittersweet chocolate. Sometimes one or two are stuck together, I still count that, in my head, as one piece. Each piece is approximately 1/2" and more of an oval in shape.
As you eat a morsel you bite into and through the dark chocolate, then you get the crunch sound, you've gotten to the delicious espresso coffee bean. The flavors combine and you get crunchy, coffee flavored chocolate. It's dark, intense and you do get the caffeine hit if you eat a handful of these beans. I snack on them for a little power jolt during the day.
Starbucks is now partnered with Hershey's, (which includes Artisan Confections Company/ Joseph Schmidt Confections, Scharffen Berger, and Dagoba Chocolate,) and they manufacture the Starbucks Chocolate. So Starbucks Chocolate is a compilation of chocolate companies that know their chocolate. Starbucks also offers milk chocolate covered coffee beans. The chocolate is glossy and is considered artisan style. The bean is from the Verona blend and always tastes very fresh. It's almost like getting a little sip of fresh coffee with a chocolate back up or overlay.
A little bonus if you decide to run out and buy these now, head to Starbucks and spend $15 or more at a participating Starbucks location this holiday and receive a free All You Need Is Love CD.
You can make a great Christmas present or hostess gift for anytime of the year by including a package of the Starbucks Espresso Coffee beans, they come in small packages 3.52 oz , a pound of the coffee and perhaps a Starbucks CD or drink mug. Throw in a travel packet of the VIA coffee or a Starbucks gift card and you have a really nice present for someone who is a chocolate lover or coffee lover.
The Starbucks Dark Chocolate Espresso Beans are lovely served on the side with a nice Sambucca or Irish Coffee drink. If you want to skip the alcoholic drinks serve a few of these with hot cocoa. I highly recommend these treats for anyone who loves chocolate and strong coffee. This chocolate covered espresso coffee bean combination is exquisite. Whoever created this is a genius.
