Re: Stearns & Foster (Reply to this comment)

Hey, sorry that you're having so much trouble with your mattress selection. We still have our Stearns & Foster and it's still extremely comfortable.
Then again, Pontiac used to make a great product in the early 90's and then they went to crap, so it's not impossible for others to have lost their luster as well.

Stearns & Foster (Reply to this comment)

My wife and I spent several days looking and searching for a mattress. We had hoped CR would have been more helpful with recommendations if you like a firm or soft cool breatable... We first purchased the Theraputic. It felt great at the store but when we got it home, we both ended up on the floor. It smelled, and I sank at my but yet my sholders and feet were well above my waist. I nearly boile over it was so hot, even with the bed sheet and we tried a mattress cover. We got most of our money back and decided to play it safe by going to Robinsons Department store buying the most expensive Stearns and Foster again at the store thinking it seemed ok. This one was cooler and we kept it but within 2 months it looked like a series of rolling hills. There was a hugh hill in the middle and sever deep dips. For $3200.00 I was extremly frustrated. The sales lady that had pitched us so strongly on the warranty neglected to mention that if the dips and hills are not high enough or low enough there would not be a return. We were unable to have someone come out to test the mattress. I am so frustrated. I just want a cotton brethable cool firm mattress that will hold up. Stearns and Foster was bought out by sealy or seerta someone, I am sure because of what is clearly a defective mattress. I guess if anyone knows of a mattress that is not filled with foam or laytes/rubber, more along the pima cotton feel that is firm, I sure would be interested. I am wondering about the Duxiana but with the no returns, that in itself says a lot. I am 6'2 220 my wive is 5'7 150. By no means are we hugh or extremly heavy in comparison to the average. I am hoping for some ideas. Thanks Craig
