Pros: Will last a long time and entertains the girls for hours.
Cons: Takes more than one person to assemble since, it's cumbersome, tiny screws for electronic parts.
The Bottom Line: If you have the room, the money, and a child who doesn't get bored too quickly with each toy, this is ideal for those make-believe kitchen plays.

| LoreenP's Full Review: Step2 Lifestyle Kitchen - Play Kitchen for Toddler... |
That's the warning when you look at the online ads, that it will make the grownups jealous of the details in this little kitchen. About 3 weeks ago, we received the Step 2 catalog and we have not had a moments peace about the "kitchen". Fortunately for us, her birthday is just a couple of weeks away, so I was able to convince the grandmothers to chip in with the cost. I can't imagine spending $200 on a toy unless it's going to clean for me.
I ordered directly from the Step 2 site since no store carried that particular kitchen. I ordered it on the 9th of May, and we received it on the 12th. Now that's fast, especially for UPS!
We snuck the two giant boxes inside and I began assembling this giant molded plastic toy. I needed help from my husband to attach the top cupboards to the counter since they need to be particularly tight when you screw them together. Plenty of nice detailed decals to really entice the children. It comes with a few plastic pots and pans, two of which have ridges in them that activate the stovetop electronic sounds. The frying pan sets off the sizzle sounds, and the pot sets off the boiling. Each appliance comes with an electronic "pad" that you have to assemble and attach that do your normal kids electronic sounds when you push the numbers, one each for the microwave, dishwasher and stove. It comes with a toy phone that dials and rings and has a molded built in stand.
It's really a cute kitchen and she adores it. The look on her face when she realized what it was and that she didn't have to wait until December to get it, is unforgettable.
Step 2 products seem a bit pricey, but they tend to make things that the children will enjoy for a long time and are built to last just as long. So, in the long run, they are worth it. Directly from Step 2 it was 199.95 plus 19.95 shipping.
