When my Granddaughter was 1 1/2 I purchased the Step 2 Wagon for two as a Christmas gift. Since we live in Michigan we had to wait a few months for a trial run , however she began using it as her camp.. she would store her toys in the compartment under the one seat and loved using the door to enter and exit her little "home".
I found the wagon at "Toys -R -Us" and can also be viewed and purchased at their website www.step2.com . Step 2 toys are made with strong , thick , durable plastic very similar to Little Tikes Toys which is important to me, especially when shopping for children's outside toys.
The Step 2 Wagon for two requires very little assembly , just attaching the door and handle is all it takes. The wagon has 2 molded seats , one is yellow and the other matches the green body itself. The yellow seat lifts up and is similar to a trunk for storing items . The handle folds up underneath the wagon for easy loading in the car...my Daughter has a mini van and a Saturn which is a small car and the wagon fits in either vehicle. It is quite lightweight so Mom can handle it herself on trips to the mall or park. There is a 2 drink cupholder built into one side of the wagon and the door locks into place after closing with very little difficulty for parents, although kids will have trouble unlocking it which appears to be a safety feature in my eyes .
Now I have 2 Granddaughters aged 4 and almost 3 , we recently took the wagon to the County Fair and we stored sunscreen and bug repellent along with a hat for each girl along with Gramma's wallet in the handy storage area. In the floor space there is adequate room for their feet as well as all the little toys they won at the fair. I can easily imagine using this wagon up to the ages of 7 or 8 years of age and still will be able to pass it on to someone else. In the event we have another birth in the meantime we will consider adding the "Tag along Trailer ".
