Pros: Easy, affordable, safe and easy starting. Very reliable and doesnt require constant servicing.
Cons: Harness should be included in price
The Stihl HT75 is a 2stroke extendable pole pruner that allows safe operation from ground level. The internal drive is a long dual splined system that allows a very positive performance. You are able to cut with the shaft at any length. The cutting system has its own oil pump for chain lubrication, this pump is automatic, you simply fill the oil tank when you are refuelling the motor. I am told these parts are the same as used in the smaller normal Stihl chainsaw (MS170 model) An optional harness is available to distribute the weight of the unit more evenly allowing easier operation. Stihl have built up a great reputation for their after sales back up, spare parts are readily available for many years after purchase unlike many budget priced machines.
This unit has had three years work now and I have spent nothing on it except for new chains and sharpening. Top tool, super reliable.
Stihl have also just released a more powerful version of this unit with a new style four stroke motor, the extra power would be nice, but in my experience probably unnecessary as this machine has more than enough power for days of pruning and limbing. This now makes three models in the range from Stihl, seems a lot for what must be a fairly small market!
