I had the taste for lasagna the other night but my foot didn’t feel good enough to stand the long period of time to make a fresh batch. I could have taken a batch out of the freezer but would take 3 hours to thaw out. So the next best thing was pulling a frozen tray of Stouffers Large Family Size lasagna out of my freezer. The difference is the whole total tray is 57 ounces for a dual layered tray, where as mine is three or four layered depending on the trays I bought. The meat sauce is halfway decent, nothing like homemade but it is spiced accordingly. What throws it off a little is using cottage cheese instead of Ricotta cheese which has more flavors to it.

Taking the plastic film off, pre-heating your oven to 375 you set the tray in for an hour and ten minutes with a piece of aluminum foil on top. After that time is up, you take the foil off and let it cook another ten minutes to let the cheese get a little brown tint to it. For microwave, set the tray in and time it for twelve minutes and pull it out to see if the middle is done, or take a meat thermometer to see if the heat range is between 160 or 175 degrees in the middle.

From the factory belt line to your table, it is labeled it feeds 7 portions. With me being a hefty eater I get three very generous portions from it. The meat sauce is good and there is a fair amount of cheese throughout the portions, but nothing to brag about. Overall taste I would give it a 3.5 stars out of 5, but nothing beats homemade. This makes dinner a snap; with a very easy clean up. This product does contain a fair amount of sodium at 740 mg or 31 percent of your daily intake. But if you like a rib sticking meal, I will recommend. This Stouffer’s Large Family Size Lasagna goes great with a garden salad and Garlic Cheese Bread.
