Pros: Quick, healthy meal.
Cons: Odd flavors and consistency
The Bottom Line: Not one of the best achievements from Lean Cuisine, I think they should stay away from mixing veggies and fruits.

I dont particularly eat Lean Cuisines for their diet potential, but more as a healthy quick lunch option. Sometimes I just dont feel like making a lunch for work and grabbing something quick and easy out of the freezer can often do the trick. I am very fond of the Asian inspired Lean Cuisines (potstickers and rice being my favorite).
Lean Cuisine can cost you upwards of $4.00 each, but stores to tend to have them on sale a lot usually for $2.50 each. This is when I tend to buy a few to keep on hand.
It comes in a slender card board box. The actual meal is in a plastic microwaveable container with a plastic film on top. The whole meal itself weighs 10 oz.
The instructions state to vent the plastic film and microwave for 8 minutes. That time is entirely way too long. I have been able to cook my meal to perfection in half that time. I usually bring my frozen dinner into work and keep it in the mini fridge til lunch time. It doesnt completely thaw and it stay pretty much frozen. So I dont think that would affect the time that much, also I have cooked it right out of the freezer and it doesnt nearly take that long. I would start with half that time, stir and taste. Wouldnt want to you to ruin your lunch by over cooking.Be careful removing the product from the microwave, as the film builds up steam and the plastic dish gets very hot.
So how does it taste? The rice is very good tender and hard to tell that it was frozen. I didnt care much for the consistency of the chicken, it is not your normal fresh chicken breast you get at the store. Its almost chewy and doesnt have a good texture, its almost spongy in consistency. The flavors are ok, you can hits of the sour from the vinegar and the sweetness from the pineapple. I dont particularly care for the flavor combination to me the vegetables (carrots and peppers) mixed in with the pineapple is not a good fit. I ended up pushing the chicken and pineapple aside and just eating the rice and vegetables.
This was not my favorite meal from Lean Cuisine and I do have a lot of favorite ones, but I figured I should try to expand my dietary horizons in the frozen meal category. I think I should steer clear of frozen chicken meals and stick with those that are pure vegetable based.
