More chick appeal? (Reply to this comment)

Nice write-up... but c'mon now, not many 'chicks' are even going to know the difference between a Les Paul and a [fill in name of cheezy guitar]... much less different LP lines!

Well, OK, maybe they'll say, "Ooh, Gibson! I've heard of that! Don't they make good guitars?"

But definately not, "Hmmm, you'd be a lot cuter with a Standard instead of that cheap-o Studio."

:D

I knew that I wanted a Gibson Les Paul as my first guitar. But I also knew that paying more than $1000 for a first guitar is pretty ludacris, so I got this for about $700 and it's great I love it!

Les Paul Menace (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for the nice review. I own a Les Paul Studio and recently tried out a Les Paul Menace. I'd like to review the Menace, but it's not available on Epinions. Is there a way to add it? Thanks!

There is nothing like the sound of a Les Paul! No, it's not cheap, nor is it inexpensive. But oh that sound!

for some of us (Reply to this comment)

its not the lack of testoserone, its the lack of MONEY. For amateur guitar players, a Gibson Les Paul is certainly a goal, but even used ones command 2,000 and up, not the amount that a hobbyist wants to spend. Great review though, now when my son and I do finally decide to pick up a Les Paul, we won't feel so bad if we can't afford the Standard.
