You get what you pay for!

Pros:Price; nice big and quiet pool area; free weights gym; fast check-out drop box
Cons:Rooms a bit disappointing; position at top of strip; long lines at check-in
The Bottom Line: Good budget option, it has all you need, but not the setting for a romantic break. You get what you pay for.
Visited the 'Strat' in June 2002 - had heard mixed reviews, but I was looking for a cheap deal and got it. At first glance the rooms seem nice, but on closer inspection you can see this place was put together on the cheap. Wall paper coming away in the room and bathroom - but in view of the amount of time you actually spend in the room this is not that important. One thing that definitely can be recommended is the buffet - one of the best in Vegas, far better than the Mirage. The gym is small but does the job if you are into that sort of thing, and I was surprised by the pool area which was on a rooftop and is spacious and relatively quiet. You may get sore feet staying here though - its position at top of strip means you have to get on busy buses and that isn't easy. Good value hotel however, but you get what you pay for. This certainly isn't Bellagio or even the Flamingo!
