Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Wastes ink, frequent interior clean-up of ink messes must be performed with no instructions
The Bottom Line: I have a feeling Epson expects the consumer to just buy another printer when this one becomes an ink mess at four points inside. Epson failed to include cleaning instructions.

Today I removed the screws forever and purposely broke off the top cover from my Epson C-80. It worked! This booger of a printer must routinely have its multiple interior ink messes cleaned. I'll bet all these great reviews I see were written BEFORE this printer begins a build-up from spewing ink. Mine is close to two years old, and I must extensively clean the interior MONTHLY.
It's HARD TO DO, and I highly recommend making the cover removable so you can reach in and get to work. You will need 30 minutes or more and a large bag of Q-tips to clean four(4) interior areas that become drenched with ink.
First, the bottom of the carriage becomes so messy with ink that it must be manually cleaned--and often. You have to get the carriage off the park position to reach under it with Q-tips. Next, the ink well area on the far left must be cleaned as well as the rollers behind it. You will be amazed how much this printer wastes valuable ink by spitting into the well to keep the printheads working.
The carriage PARK position rubber seat and assembly needs to be cleaned because gobs of ink get everywhere. The hidden "wiper blade" also becomes a mess, and it must be cleaned using two dozen Q-tips and water.
I complained to Epson that there are no interior maintenance instructions, and yet this massive ink waster requires frequent cleaning.
Being great "out of the box" does not make a printer great. This printer sprays MORE EXPENSIVE INK INSIDE THE CABINET THAN IT DOES ON MY PAPER! You would not know this early on unless you went looking "under the hood." Eventually when you print on photo paper the ink mess begins to wet the corners, and that is your early warning that maintenance is needed.
Consuming tons of ink, much of which never hits the paper is a good thing for Epson and a bad thing for the consumer.
