Dear, Which fruit would you like to be today?
Written: Sep 11 '05 (Updated Sep 16 '05)
Pros:Nice, long lasting scent, gentle to skin, lathers up great, cleans well.
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Does the job. Why pay more?
Its my pleasure to help my disabled wife with her daily washing and her regular baths. I also handle most of the grocery and cosmetics purchases. Like most guys, I realize that cosmetics and jewelry are sure to please your woman.
So, I was always looking around for quality bubble bath (err
moisturizing Body Wash) and buying her the brands from Ulta3 (at about $5 per bottle on sale) and Bath and Body Works (about the same). Ive also always enjoyed buying her fruit scents. Shes just wonderfully attractive when smelling like a giant raspberry, pear, melon, coconut, what have you.
Then a couple of things happened. First, Ulta3 discontinued some of the fruit scents I liked. Then, a woman who used to work for the company who makes Suave came to work where I do. I asked her is the Suave bodywashes that I had seen at Jewel (the Albertsons store chain in Chicago) and she said the items worked great, smelled great and were inexpensive. I asked her how come the Suave was less expensive and she said that the other brands charge too much.
So, I tried the Suaves for my wife and myself. Weve been using the Suave varieties for several years now and are quite pleased. The Suave products invariably lather up well, smell nice and have a long lasting scent. The scents are a little less intense at the beginning than the Ulta3 and Bath and Body Works scents, but the Suave scents last much longer.
In terms of this product, honeydew, watermelon and cucumber are pictures on the label. The honeydew seems to be the most prevalent scent, although the others are noticeable.
The formulation also cleans her quickly and well. I know that her skin is soft and the body wash helps maintain that, even in sensitive areas. I dont know how much the aloe and vitamin E to babies her skin, but the product itself sure does.
The remarkable thing about the product is that it is available at modest prices in grocery stores and the Wal-marts and targets of the world. On sale, I usually pay $2 for a 12 oz bottle, less at Wal-mart or Target. Plus, Suave will occasionally stimulate sales by selling a larger bottle (16 oz) at the same price.
The neat thing about the Suave brands is that there are so many good ones. Aside from this one and Suave for Men, we both like and use raspberry. Some of the other flavors I remember off the top of my head are Pear, Kiwi, Coconut, Passion Flower, Vanilla, Berry Smoothie and there are more.
So why pay more than twice as much for a cosmetic store product that is not as good?
