| boden11's Full Review: Sudafed Cold & Sinus |
I didn't realize I was unlike other youngsters until about 13 or 14. I thought most people sneezed 6 or 7 times in a row just like me. How wrong I was...
This last year I went up with my girlfriend to a State Fair--she shows pigs. The first two days there I was just non-stop sneezing, sniffling, red nose, dripping, the whole nine yards. By the third day I had had enough, during a shopping trip I picked up a package of Sudafed Sinus Relief (Non-Drowsy). They cost about 8-10$ for a package of 20 pills and can be had at nearly any grocery store.
These things are just miracle workers. I popped one or two about 30-45 minutes before we would go to the fair, and I was able to walk around like a normal person. No drippy nose, no little fits of sneezing, nothing. The pills last about 3-4 hours and there are no side effects. Just make sure you get the "Non-Drowsy" kind. Sudafed sells "Sudafed Sinus" in two versions, regular and non-drowsy.
Non-Drowsy ....
The first time I used Sudafed to relieve my Sinus pressure I was working at a summer camp back in 1995 and I was an "Equine Assistant" meaning I worked with horses (trail rides, lessons, etc.). Well being allergic to hay, grasses, molds, and pollens working was a living nightmare. So I picked up some regular Sudafed Sinus and....well it worked....kind of. I was relieved of my sinus problems, however I was walking around in a Zombie like state, too tired to even focus my eyes fully. These things knock you OUT! (When they say not to operate heavy machinery, they're not kidding--these things would even knock an insomniac out cold!)
Other types of Sudafed
Sudafed sells tons of different types of pills to relieve all sorts of various problems. My two personal favorites include the previously mentioned Non-Drowsy Sudafed Sinus, and the Non-Drowsy MultiSymptom Cold&Cough. I was sick a few months back, and with the help of Sudafed, Nyquil, Tylenol, Theraflu and a few other over the counter drugs I was back on my feet in two days.
ND MultiSymptom Cold&Cough is in a fighter of all sorts of cold problems; including--nasal, sinus and chest congestion due to colds, cough & sore throat, headache, fever and body aches. And it does deliver on its promises. The relief isn't so dramatic like with the Sudafed Sinus (you're body takes longer to shake off a cold than to just block out allergens) but it does help out a lot by speeding the process up.
Conclusion
Sure, there are no-name brands (store brands, off-brands) situated right next to Sudafed, but don't be fooled. I've tried numerous types of these pills (remember, I'm allergic to everything...) and the most effective brand is always Sudafed. Maybe if you are really, REALLLY tight for the money it would be ok to save the 4$, but otherwise, go with Sudafed.
