Pros: This product does clear out your sinuses.
Cons: You'll have to carry a huge box of Kleenex with you.
My former mother-in-law is a nurse and one day when I was at her home, it was quite obvious that I was unable to breathe through my nose at all due to sinus congestion. It was then that I had my first experience with Sudafed. My first impression at that time was that I could not see how any small little red pill could really help me breathe.
After all, the darned little pill looked more like a ?red-hot? candy than anything else. Well, I didn?t have anything else to try at that time so I took the pills as she told me. Within ? hour my sinuses were running so freely that I had to use tissues constantly because everything was draining out!
Needless to say, I was pleased that my sinuses were draining, but I was shocked that even after the initial sinus drain that there would be continual bursts of sinus drainage until the dosage was over. And I mean it was suddenly that drainage would come without warning!
At first, I thought it was just that first experience with Sudafed that caused this reaction, but in my personal experience this has been the norm instead of the exception for all of these years I have used this product. When I use it, I have to carry a box of Kleenex with me so that can have some means to catch this drainage. This is very embarrassing as you could imagine.
Over the years, I periodically use Sudafed when I am so desperate for relief that I will try anything. Personally though, I am tired of having a red nose wiping nasal drip from my nose running like a faucet and prefer a product that dries my sinuses instead. In addition, if you have a headache associated with your sinus congestion, you will have to take a pain reliever in addition to Sudafed as well.
If you are severely clogged with sinus congestion and nothing else seems to work, I would highly recommend that you try Sudafed. Even with it?s side effects it does work very effectively and help relieve congestion.
Note: There is information on the ingredients and recommended dosages for Sudafed is on their official web site as well as on the package. I believe that when a person buys this type of product, that information is important to know especially if you are allergic to particular ingredients. However, in my personal opinion, when I am looking for a product to help me, I want to know if the darned thing works! That?s why this and other over the counter medication articles that I will write do not have specs for these items.
