Your night with The Nutcracker

Written: Nov 30 '08
Pros:Fruity, bold but not over-bearing
Cons:none
The Bottom Line: For a delicious refreshing soothing date with a famous nutcracker, sip this by the fire !

Ychaikovsky's The Nutcracker is a gentle, fantastic realm the mind of a child enters through the imagination sparked by a delectable cup of Sugar Plum Spice, or at least thats what I sense when I sip this at the end of a long day.

It relaxes and allows the mind to travel as you read the box while sipping hot delight on a cold wintry night where colors and shimmers are part of the holiday celebration. This should be also.

Celestial Seasonings is well known for its variety of different teas both black and green and white and red, but this particular holiday tea is a blend just perfect for the pine-scented tree or the candles on mantles or the cinnamon-apple pie baking in the oven, a great compliment.

The ingredients are all natural beginning with leaves and petals of the hisbiscus plant, roasted barley malt, roasted chicory root, rosehips, chamomile flavors, natural plum and cinnamon flavors plus ginger root, roasted carob and cardamom. There are 0 calories in each of the 20 bags of one 44 gram, 1.6 oz net wt box in this package of three. There is also 0% of total fat, sodium, carbs, sugars and protein.

This yummy blend was born in 1996 and was made exclusively for Celestial Seasonings, a big seller during the holidays because it compliments fish, poultry and beef tastefully. With a little added cinnamon for a more bold approach and maybe even some dark rum, this would be a fabulous toddy minus the brandy !

It is rather inexpensive and is great hot but if chilled can also be a delightful replacement to plain water for the holiday meal. Either to warm you or to sensationalize the tasting experience, pick up some Sugar Plum Spice tea with 100% natural herbs and the delectable sweetness of a tree's ripest plum !
