Pros:Inexpensive. Simple to install. Easy to use. Handy storage compartment. Saves floor space.
Cons:Sturdiness and long-term durability are questionable. 150' capacity claim seems a bit optimistic.
The Bottom Line: Less is more: This simple hang-up unit proved much simpler to use than the wind-up hideaway devices I've tried.
After tripping over garden hoses for years, I finally decided to get some sort of hose storage device. I had tried a wind-up product, the Hose Hideaway, also by Suncast. As it turned out, my hoses are apparently too rigid to be wound tightly enough to fit inside that device's reel. Back to the store it went.

In its place I now have this Hose Hangout. It seems to solve the problem perfectly. I mounted it just above the faucet in the garage and it easily accomodates my two 50-foot hoses. Nice touch -- the small storage compartment in the center of the thing. Now I can store the nozzles for my house and not have to hunt around for them. (But note: The claimed capacity is 150 feet of hoses. That might be a squeeze for this unit).
In a way, this unit is even better than the reel devices -- with those, I would have to use some of my scarce floor space. This Hangout unit allows me to store the hoses on the wall and still have some space below for other stuff.
The installation was pretty easy. They provide holes for six screws, three on top and three below. I am not sure you really need to use all of them but I decided it would be best to do so -- using fewer screws might overstress the plastic.
Which brings me to my one concern, namely how well this thing holds up after a few years of use. If it breaks prematurely, I'll be back here with an update. And if it doesn't break -- well, just assume that no news is good news!
