The Super Pet Mini Run About Ball is a must have item for people who have dwarf hamsters or mice.

This mini ball gives your hamster time out of their cage for extra exercise and it's fun to watch them run all over the place in this ball without having to worry about them getting into areas they shouldn't.

The Super Pet mini Run About Ball is 5" in diameter and made of sturdy plastic. It has a twist on top to get your hamster in and out of the ball, this top stays secure so you won't have to worry about it popping off when they go bumping into things. This ball comes in a variety of colors, as well as clear and while it may be harder to see your hamster in the color variety as compared to the clear, you can still see that your hamster is still in there so you can watch him/her. We have a pink one since Sammy is a girl, but they also come in blue, yellow and clear from what I've seen in the stores.

Cleaning the ball is fairly easy, just wash in warm water and mild soap, it didn't give any specific instructions, but we always make sure we rinse it well so there is no residue. If it does get dirty because your hamster decides to do his/her business during play time, it's best to clean it right away after use since there are small slits all over the ball (so your hamster can breath while running around), it can make it difficult to clean those areas if you let it sit and not clean it after an accident.

So far, Sammy just loves this ball and doesn't mind going in it. While she does have ample room in her cage and a wheel, we give her about an hour of exercise in the ball daily. If she gets into the kitchen, we can hear her running around, but it is completely silent when she's running around in the ball on the carpet unless she bumps into the wall. One thing is you will have to be mindful of where your hamster is running around in the ball, especially on carpeting. Since you can't hear them running around on carpeting and you're not watching where you're walking, you can accidentally kick the ball. You may also have to watch out for your cats if you have them. While the hamster is safe from being eaten within the confines of the ball, that won't stop your cats interest. Sammy has an audience when she's running around, both Frisky and Reva will watch her intently and Frisky will actually try to play with the ball when Sammy is in it.

Overall, this has been a great addition to our hamster stuff and I consider it a must have item. Not only can your hamster get exercise and have fun, but it's also a safe place you can put your hamster when you're cleaning their cage.
