| pippadaisy's Full Review: Sure Track Dazy Stabilize and Secure Wooden Train ... |
Santa was kind enough to bring my younger boys the same train table that their older cousins have had for two years. With the experience we've gained playing at their house, I knew that Sodor often faces catastrophe after catastrophe as tracks disintegrate, especially anything that's up on risers. Thanks to ladyhawk2_99, I knew how to help keep Sodor running properly, and that was with Dazy Sure Track.
::: What Does It Do? :::
Dazy Sure Track is a handy little invention that is actually a small plastic clip. It looks almost like a chair with arm rests, with a flat base and smaller sides that come up and then the "arm rests" that hook onto the sides of the track. To use, you place a piece of Sure Track on one piece of track you are connecting, and slide it all the way back so that the connector is exposed. Once you connect the two pieces, slide the Sure Track back so that the flat base rests under the edges of the two track pieces, forming a secure lock between the pieces.
Dazy Sure Track works on Brio and Thomas track, as well as most other wooden tracks. One box of Sure Track contains 14 pieces.
::: Why Do You Need It? :::
Without the Dazy Sure Track, we'd have been lost. My in-laws got my sons a huge Maxim train set, and for some unknown reason, no matter how many times you look at the diagram with any of these sets, it never seems to work out the way that they tell you it will. There were parts where one level of track went over another level and I just wasn't able to get one of the plastic risers in between two sections of track to support the second level. With Dazy Sure Track, I don't have to worry about the risers holding the track in EXACTLY the right spot lest the track collapse, even with two toddlers playing with their trains in a (shall we say?) less-than-gentle manner.
Dazy Sure Track is easy to remove when you want to reconfigure your tracks, and does no damage to the train track at all. We discovered that it can make the track sit oddly on supports or risers, but if you offset the risers to just off the edge of the Dazy Sure Track, that problem is gone.
::: So How Much Does It Cost? :::
List price for Dazy Sure Track is $13.00 for a box of 14 clips, but I found them online at the Creative Brains Online Store for $19.98 for two boxes. With an order of $30.00 or more, you receive free ground shipping, which makes this price a steal. I found that two boxes handled a multi-layer track on a Nilo table (the same size as the Thomas table) nicely, with a few pieces to spare.
